BIOL 7311 - Behavioral Ecology


Computer exercises during some scheduled lecture times will include foraging and habitat use models, game theory, and species interaction models. Three hours lecture.

This course is a broad introduction to the field of behavioral ecology and how evolutionary and ecological constraints shape behavioral strategies and tactics. Topics to be addressed include the evolution of life histories, reproductive decisions, resource acquisition and utilization, and the costs and benefits of sociality.

Prerequisites: BIOL 3303, BIOL 4305/BIOL 5305  or the equivalent or consent of the instructor.
