Conflict of Laws - LAWB 6201 Credits Hours: 2
This course studies the American federalist system. Through analyses of case law, statutes, the Constitution of the United States, and the Restatements of Law, the course surveys issues of personal jurisdiction, choice of law, and the recognition of judgments. The course’s major focus is American choice of law methodologies for choosing among competeing state laws. Multiple methodologies and pros and cons of each will be covered. The course will also prsent issues arising from conflicts between federal and state authority.
