CHEM 56033 - (was 5360) Medicinal Chemistry Three hours lecture. Three credit hours.
Was CHEM 5360. An introduction to the chemistry and theory of drug action that includes general drug design, drug-receptor interactions, drug design through enzyme inhibition, pharmacokinetics, and drug metabolism. Additionally, the mechanism of specific drug classes will be examined. Cannot be used as a substitute for the Biochemistry requirement of the ACS-certified degree.
Prerequisites: CHEM 36051 (was CHEM 3350) and CHEM 36201 (was CHEM 3351), with CHEM 36053 (was CHEM 3350) and CHEM 36203 (was CHEM 3351), or CHEM 35032 (was CHEM 3250), all with grades of C or greater.
