The College of Education and Health Professions brings together several of the UA Little Rock’s most well established and successful professional programs that are each individually accredited:

  • Audiology and Speech Pathology
  • Counseling, Human Performance, and Rehabilitation
  • Education
  • Nursing
  • Social Work

By emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration and sharing departmental strengths, the college is poised to become a 21st-century leader in opening doors to high-demand careers for graduates of all ages.

General Information

The college offers a number of bachelor’s degrees, associate of science degrees in American Sign Language Studies and Nursing, as well as various master’s, education specialist, and doctoral degrees at the graduate level. The college is also home to a number of centers and public service units including MidSouth; the Center for Applied Studies in Education; the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Education; and the Center for Literacy.

Academic Advising

Students majoring in, or interested in majoring in, Health Education and Promotion are advised in the Trojan Academic Advising and Support Center until they earn approximately 45 credit hours. Students interested in majoring in, or pre-admitted students in, the following programs are advised in the Advising and Support Center of the College of Education and Health Professions until they earn approximately 45 credit hours and are fully admitted to the program:

  • Any Education program
  • Nursing
  • Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Social Work
  • Interpretation: American Sign Language/English

After reaching approximately 45 hours and meeting admissions standards, students majoring in programs within the College of Education and Health Professions are transitioned to faculty advisors in their degree programs.

The CEHP Advising and Support Center is an integral part of student support in the college. Staff are available to assist prospective and current students with any aspect of their education within CEHP programs. Located on the third floor of Dickinson Hall, students interested in declaring a major within the college can receive assistance with admission to the academic college, academic advising, transition and mental health support, and career services.
