Undergraduate Catalog
Education Minor and Teacher Licensure
|
|
Students interested in teaching in public schools in Arkansas must be licensed by the state in a state-approved subject area. UA Little Rock programs in teacher education are designed to prepare students for licensure. Candidates for licensure must complete the program, pass examinations mandated by the state, and pass a criminal background check.

Praxis Series Tests
In order to complete the Education Minor, students must pass all required Praxis Subject Assessment content exams within their licensure area. The content exams are required by the State of Arkansas at the time of publication of this catalog but are subject to change. Students who do not pass the exams are eligible to graduate under an education program degree plan with a minor in education but are ineligible for teaching licensure. In such cases, students must sign a waiver in order to be able to graduate. .
