Was PHYS 5310. Microscopic, unified approach to thermodynamics, statistical mechanics with applications to ideal gases; includes blackbody radiation and conduction electronics, magnetic systems, the Debye model, chemical and phase equilibria. Offered in spring on even years, or when in demand.

Prerequisites: PHYS 2322, 3323.
