PHYS 51153 - (was 5311) Classical Mechanics

One optional discussion and three hours lecture. Three credit hours.

Was PHYS 5311. Concepts of Newtonian mechanics, dynamics of particles and systems of particles, gravitation, vector analysis, dynamics of rigid bodies, moving coordinate systems, continuous media, small oscillations, and the methods of Lagrange and Hamilton. Dual listed in the Undergraduate Catalog as PHYS 41153 (was PHYS 4311)

Prerequisites: PHYS 2321, MATH 2306 or consent of instructor.
