NURS 2410 - OB/Reproductive Health Nursing Fours (2 theory; 2 lab) credit hours.
A study of the current evidence base for patient-centered care during the reproductive years, with emphasis on normal childbearing processes. Exemplars illustrating expected processes and common problems that occur during childbearing will be used to facilitate students’ application of decision-making skills to prioritize care as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Students will provide patient/family discharge teaching and implement an original community teaching project to further develop skills in quality improvement and informatics. Laboratory experiences will take place in simulation, acute care, and community settings.
Prerequisites: NURS 1410 or NURS 1420 or NURS 1330 & NURS 1130 Prerequisite/Concurrent: CHEM 1400 or CHEM 1402 or CHEM 1405 .
