CSPS 7341 - Practicum I

Three credit hours.

The practicum is a year-long required course in the first year of the MPS degree program that places students in teams working on public service projects selected by the faculty where students apply the knowledge and skills they are learning at the School. Practicum prepares students to work effectively in the field, develops teamwork skills required to successfully complete team projects, helps students apply what they are learning at the Clinton School to real-world public service projects, and provides opportunities to plan, implement, and analyze project work with significant mentoring from faculty, peers, and community members. Students must complete both semesters of the practicum, two credit hours in the fall semester and three credit hours in the spring semester, and a passing grade in Practicum I is a prerequisite for enrolling in Practicum Il. Due to the team requirements of Practicum, if a student withdraws, receives a failing grade, or receives no credit in Practicum Il, he/she must retake both Practicum I and Practicum Il at his/her own expense.
