SCWK 79033 - (was SOWK 7390) Strengths-Focused Social Work Practice


Three credit hours.

Was SOWK 7390. This course introduces students to the core ethical principles, theoretical frameworks, and practice competencies that form the foundation of professional social work. Grounded in the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics and the strengths perspective, students will acquire foundational knowledge necessary for strengths-focused and ethically sound social work practice. The course also provides an overview of the populations served by social workers, as well as the essential knowledge, values, and skills required to meet their unique needs.
