Physical principles and operating characteristics of electro-optical devices and systems; gas, chemical, solid state and semiconductor lasers; Gaussian beam optics, laser modulators and scanners; imaging devices; thermal and photon detectors; fiber and integrated optics; nonlinear optical devices. Prerequisites: ASCI 7340 or equivalent.
