Principles, physiology, physics, instrumentation of modern physiological measurements; includes measurements of electrocardiogram, pulmonary function, metabolic rate, blood flow, human performance; ultrasonic imaging, stress tests, impedance cardiology; emphasis on theory of each technique’s measurement difficulties, present research directions; requires proposal of a technique that overcomes some disadvantages of existing methods.
