Includes discussion of temporal and spatial distribution patterns, population dynamics, and ecological interactions of fish eggs and larvae; role of early stages of fishes in fisheries oceanography, marine ecology, and systematics; methods of sampling and identifying fish eggs and larvae; data quantification and analysis; rearing experiments; techniques for studying larval fish dynamics.

Prerequisites: Ichthyology, Fisheries, Biology, Ecology, or consent of instructor.
