MUAP 31151 - (was 3111) English Diction

Was MUAP 3111. Will broaden students’ understanding of English-language sounds as they are applied to both speech and classical singing and impart an understanding of the American Standard, Mid-Atlantic, and British Received Pronunciation dialects. Students will be introduced to the International Phonetic Alphabet and learn its application to English-language Opera and Art Songs. Frequent performances in the classroom setting will allow students to directly apply this knowledge to their performance craft.
