SCWK 41332 - (was SOWK 4213) Field Seminar II Two credit hours.
Was SOWK 4213. The second of two seminars that provide students with opportunities to integrate knowledge and insights developed in the classroom by exploring the field experience through the group process. The Generalist Intervention Model of engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and termination is the basis for student learning and self-evaluation. Builds on the strengths and experience of Seminar I to further student development toward full integration of knowledge, skills, and values in generalist practice. Group discussion and process, the basis and coordination of skills, establishment of values, collaboration with colleagues, and community visits provide the framework to identify as a professional social worker. Students must receive a “B” or higher to move on to graduate.
Prerequisites: Formal admission to the BSW program, a “C” or better in SCWK 13003 , SCWK 30333 , SCWK 30433 , SCWK 31333 , SCWK 31433 , SCWK 30233 , and SCWK 33133 , a “B” in SCWK 41232 and SCWK 44133 /SCWK 44155 , a 2.5 cumulative GPA in all social work courses taken to date, a 2.5 overall GPA, and formal admission to the Field Experience. Corequisites: SCWK 44233 /SCWK 44235 . Prerequisite or Corequisite: SCWK 43333 .
