SCWK 33205 - (was SOWK 3325) Case Management in SOWK Three credit hours.
Was SOWK 3325. Prepares bachelor-level social workers to be competent case managers in social service settings. Assists students in developing professional skills associated with effective case management using a strengths-based model and culturally sensitive strategies for diverse populations. Students will learn generalist case management skills with individuals and families while also learning about differences in case management across diverse settings, including medical, child welfare, homelessness, and substance abuse. Students will learn how to work with their clients in setting up service plans, identifying resources, developing strategies to implement services, and creating a working alliance with clients in both voluntary and involuntary settings.
Prerequisites: SCWK 13003 and admission to BSW Program
