PSYC 34104 - (was 3441) Research Methods I Four credit hours.
Was PSYC 3441. Designed as a survey of methods used in psychological research, with equal treatment given to quasi-experimental and experimental designs. Topics will include experiments, survey research, qualitative field research, and unobtrusive research, emphasizing their purposes, strengths, and weaknesses. This is a writing-intensive course. Students will apply their knowledge towards developing a literature review that results in hypotheses for a research study in compliance with APA style. Students must pass this writing assignment with a D or better to pass the course. The grade in the writing assignment is a requirement.
Prerequisites: PSYC 33554 and PSYC 20043 with grades of “C” or greater.
