NURS 32052 - (was 3205) Patient-Centered Nursing Across Populations

Two credit hours.

Was NURS 3205. Presents foundational nursing concepts focused on individualized, patient-centered care across populations. Unfolding case studies, lectures, clinical judgment scenarios, and collaborative projects guide students in providing appropriate, responsive care for patients, families, or groups with various needs from commonly observed cultural backgrounds in the United States. The essential competencies for the course are outlined by the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies: quality improvement, teamwork and collaboration, patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, informatics, and safety. An end-of-course collaborative project is designed to provide experiences to expand the synthesis of the competencies.

Prerequisites: Enrollment in the AAS or BSN Nursing Program.
