ASTR 40103 - (was 4301) Astrophysics

Three hours lecture. Three credit hours.

Was ASTR 4301. An upper-level course with an emphasis on applying the tools of mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum theory to understand the processes inherent in galaxies, cosmology, and the structure and evolution of stars. Dual listed in the Graduate Catalog as ASTR 50103 (was ASTR 5301). Offered in the Spring only.

Prerequisites: PHYS 20403  is required. ASTR 20103  is recommended, but not required.
