BIOL 1433 - Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology


Three hours lecture. Three hours laboratory per week. Four credit hours.

This one-semester course is a study of the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology. Topics include the hierarchy of body structure and organization, physiological processes, and basic cellular chemistry. The structures and physiological functions of each body system are studied experimentally and in theory, with emphasis on the contributions that each makes to homeostasis, human health, and disease. Note that this course may not meet the requirements for Allied Health programs. Please consult the specific program’s requirements. This course cannot be used for credit toward a biology major or minor.
