Was BIOL 4550. Introduction to marine microorganisms and pertinent literature sources. The role of microorganisms in the ecology of oceans and estuaries is stressed. Use of laboratory sampling equipment, methods of processing samples, and laboratory techniques useful in studying marine microorganisms.

Prerequisites: General Microbiology and consent of instructor.
