ELED 30203 - (was ELEM 3302) Social Studies Methods Three credit hours.
Was ELEM 3302. Provides the opportunity for candidates to analyze and develop integrated curricula in social studies from a variety of historical and current perspectives within the context of professional, state, and local standards. Candidates integrate knowledge from the six disciplines of social studies (history, anthropology, sociology, political science, geography, and economics) into a constructivist, inquiry-based social studies curriculum. The course explores ways children come to learn about themselves and others. Emphasis on meeting the needs of all children, including attention to diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and different learning abilities and styles.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Elementary Education program.
