ETME 31803 - (was 3318) Industrial and Environmental Safety

Three hours lecture. Three credit hours.

Was ETME 3318. Need and justification for safety in the workplace. Legal aspects of safety and the OSHA Act. Environmental requirements and emission standards. Scope of human factors and safety management. Planning and implementation of safety measures to counteract various industrial hazards such as mechanical, electrical, fire, noise, and toxic substances.

Prerequisites: Grades of C or greater in ETME 21701  and ETME 21703 , or consent of instructor.
