IFSC 33003 - (was 3330) Current Trends in Database Technology


Three hours lecture. Three credit hours.

Was IFSC 3330. Current trends in database design and management emphasize typical applications in business, medicine, and science. Survey of modern database technologies including object-related database technology, query processing and optimization, transaction processing concepts, concurrency control techniques, database security and authorization, data mining, data warehousing, and web search engine technology. Discussion of database management and distributed database management issues.

Prerequisites: IFSC 32003  or its equivalent or instructor consent.
