A microscopic, unified approach to thermodynamics and statistical mechanics with applications to ideal gases, including blackbody radiation and conduction electrons, magnetic systems, the Debye model, and chemical and phase equilibria. Dual listed in the Graduate Catalog as PHYS 51033 (was PHYS 5310).
Prerequisites: PHYS 20403 , PHYS 32343 .
