THTR 36503 - (was THEA 3362) Directing I


Three credit hours.

Was THEA 3362. A practical application course designed to introduce directorial skills and techniques, focusing on exploration of space and close reading of the text. Through a progressive series of analytical and creative encounters in conjunction with scene work, the director develops methodologies for reading for action, determining thematic focus, working with varied theatre configurations and communication with the acting ensemble. The course culminates in a public showing of a ten minute scene. 

Prerequisites: THTR 25233  and THTR 26043 .
