BSAD 1100 - Business Perspectives

One hours lecture. One credit hours.

This course satisfies the university’s first-year experience requirement for business majors. The course provides an overview of business as a profession, including an introduction to frameworks for ethical decision-making and critical thinking. Through in-class discussion and outside assignments, students are introduced to the essential ideas of markets and the economic environment of business, management in organizations, leadership, financial management, accounting, production, and marketing, as well as the global dimensions of business and their social responsibilities. The overarching goal of the course is to introduce the student to the various dimensions of business and to help them to identify areas of study that are of particular personal interest.
