LGST 3300 - Introduction to the Legal System


Three hours lecture. Three credit hours.

This course is designed to teach students the basics of the American legal system at both the federal, and state levels. It also will teach them how to read, dissect, interpret, and apply statutes. rules, and case law. Students completing this course successfully should have a sufficient understanding of legal reasoning and the American legal system so as to be prepared for law school or to participate as a citizen in the American legal system. 

Prerequisites: RHET 1312 , POLS 1310 , and PHIL 1330   or PHIL 2350 .
