The program offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.  There are two emphases within the Marketing major. 

Emphasis Areas:
1. Digital Marketing
2. Professional Sales

There are two minors and a certificate of proficiency offered:

Minors:
1. Digital Marketing Minor  
2. Professional Selling Minor  

Certificate of Proficiency: 
Professional Sales Certificate of Proficiency  

NOTE: All the emphasis areas and minors in the Marketing program are offered both on-campus and in a fully-online format. 

General Information

All majors in the program are required to achieve a grade of C or greater in all courses required in their major; all majors must also complete all required pre-business and professional business courses with an overall GPA of 2.0. All non-business majors completing a minor within the program are required to achieve a grade of C or greater in all courses transferred to or taken at UA Little Rock in order to fulfill course requirements in the minor block of courses.

 
The primary mission of the program is to prepare students for a professional career in marketing, advertising, or sales in the private and public sectors. The knowledge, analytical skills, and technical expertise required of marketing professionals are emphasized.

Each of the two emphases in the major develops critical thinking, specialized conceptual knowledge, and problem-solving techniques.

Digital Marketing Emphasis

Students will learn to integrate social media, digital tools, and analytics with traditional marketing skills and goals. They will learn to collect and visualize market data, design user experiences, create engaging content, implement omnichannel marketing plans, and make data-driven decisions to optimize customer engagement and drive growth. 

Professional Sales Emphasis

Students will learn to develop and implement a complete sales effort using both marketing and sales skills. They learn practical skills that can be readily applied in a variety of sales roles such as gathering market intelligence, negotiation skills, overcoming obstacles, increasing buyer satisfaction, and managing sales efforts.

Marketing Educational Goals

Students will:

  • Understand ethical and responsible marketing practices within various organizations, societies, and cultures around the globe.
  • Understand the fundamentals of consumer behavior, market research, advertising, and sales.
  • Develop specialized skills in either Social and Digital Marketing or Professional Selling.
  • Master skills in developing and executing complete marketing/sales programs including organizing marketing/sales departments, gathering information, creating strategies and plans, executing programs, and measuring and controlling programs.
