Program Requirements
The Associate of Science degree requires 60 hours and is designed to develop American Sign Language skills for students who are interested in applying their skills to a future career and those pursuing careers in ASL-English interpretation. Coursework provides students with the knowledge of American Sign Language, English–based signing systems, and Deaf Culture. This program includes a service-learning project with individuals who are Deaf to foster meaningful language interaction and involvement in the Deaf Community. 60 total hours, including 35 hours of core and 15 hours in residence.
First-Year Colloquium (0-3 hours)
Required of full-time freshmen entering college for the first time and transfer students with less than 12 hours of credit.
