CHEM 48033 - (was 4380) Introduction to Polymer Chemistry


Two hours lecture. Three hours laboratory per week. Three credit hours.

Was CHEM 4380. Theoretical and practical aspects of polymer chemistry will be coordinated. Topics include history, types of polymerizations, kinetics, molecular weight, physical properties including thermal and spectroscopic characterization, biopolymers, and engineering resins. Dual listed in the Graduate Catalog as CHEM 58033 (was CHEM 5380).

Prerequisites: CHEM 36203 , CHEM 36201 , or CHEM 35032  with a grade of C or greater. Other courses that are recommended but not required are: CHEM 37043 , CHEM 37143 , CHEM 37031 , CHEM 37131 , and CHEM 37235 .
